Named "The Best Mexican Restaurant of the Year Outside of Mexico," for 2025 by the prestigious Culiniaria Mexicana guide, Alma is located off the beaten path in the heart of Outremont, Alma is an intimate restaurant focusing on modern Mexican cuisine, Mediterranean inspiration and Catalan wine. Operated by Chef Juan Lopez Luna and Sommelier and wine importer, Lindsay Brennan, Alma is a true hospitality experience. The tasting menus are inspired by the concept of "mar y montana" (the co-existence of the ocean and the mountains), largely influenced by Juan's home-country of Mexico. The menu is seafood-focused, and integrates heritage corn and local QC products. The wine list specializes in Catalan wines from a unique group of winemaker-friends from the Barcelona region, with whom the couple works directly. Alma is the Canadian destination for Catalan wines, with a deep cellar of back vintages and rare cuvées.
