Born and raised in Toronto, he developed a passion for Chinese food at a young age, frequently dining at Cantonese restaurants with his family, a foundation that laid the groundwork for his future ventures. Notably, Schwartz earned the 2023 MICHELIN Guide Toronto Young Chef Award, and all three of his flagship restaurants have earned recognition from the MICHELIN Guide. Each has also earned a spot on the coveted annual Air Canada's Best New Restaurants list. Sunnys was a Finalist in 2021, Mimi placed in the Top 10 in 2022, and Linny's was a Finalist and won Cocktail of the Year in 2025. Additionally, all three restaurants have been recognized by Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants in 2026. Linny's, a deli-inspired steakhouse named in memory of his late mother, reflects a profound reconnection to his cultural roots.
